By using the 'Translate' feature, you can add translations of different metadata texts to your videos or video platform. Currently, translations to Dutch and English are supported. In this article, we explain how you can add translations to your videos or video platform.
The 'Translate' feature allows you to show text on your video platform in multiple languages. Adding a language selection to your video platform requires the involvement of a Tradecast developer. If you would like to use the Translate feature, please contact Tradecast Support or your personal Tradecast contact.
The translations that you can add in either English or Dutch are currently:
- The title of a video;
- The description of a video;
- The title of a main and sub category;
- The description of a main and sub category;
- The title of an Interest;
- The copy of custom content pages;
- The title, description and call-to-action buttons (CTA's) of a marketing slider.
Adding a translation to any of the above texts is very easy. If, for example, you want to translate the title and description of a video, you start in the Video Overview. In the main menu, click on 'Videos' and then on 'Manage'. Then click on the three dots (...) next to the video you want to add translations to and choose 'Edit'.
Next, open tab 2 - 'Basic Information' - and use the black 'Translate' buttons to add your translations. The translation you can add is the so-called 'second language' of your video platform. By this, we mean the other language than the one you have chosen when creating your video platform; if the default language of your video platform is English, the second language in which you can add translations is Dutch and vice versa.
Once you have added your translations, click the green 'Save' button at the bottom of the page. Your translations have now been added to this video and when users use the language switch button on your video platform, the title and description of this video will change to the second language.
You can also take these same steps to translate texts for main and sub categories, as well as for translating Interests titles.
