To find out how many times a specific video on your own video platform has been viewed, you can view its video-specific analytics information in your platform's CMS. In this article, we explain how you can view a video's views and other video-specific analytics information.
After logging into your video platform's CMS, click on the 'Media' button in the main menu on the left and then click on 'Overview'. You are now in the Media Overview, where you can view all the videos uploaded to the CMS. Once you have found the video of which you want to view the specific views and other analytics information, click on the three-dot sign (...) in the lower right corner of this video and choose 'Analytics'.
The CMS now opens the overview page of this particular video, automatically displaying the 'Analytics' tab, at the bottom of the screen and next to the first tab, 'Overlays'. The video-specific analytics of the chosen video are divided into three types:
- Views: In this block you can see how many times this video has been viewed, in a period of time that you can define. To do this, use the time indicator at the top of the block and the dropdown menu with 'Daily' and 'Hourly' to refine the results if desired. This block distinguishes between three different types of viewers: live stream viewers, on-demand viewers and timeline viewers;
- Interaction: In this block, you'll see how often and at what times viewers of this video clicked on the interactive overlay buttons you can set up in the 'Overlays' tab. This block distinguishes between five different types of overlay buttons: 'Map', 'Book/Buy', 'Info', 'React' and 'Link'.;
- Audience retention: In this block you see what percentage of your viewers watched up to what point in the video, in a period of time that you can define. With the information from this block, you can see when a certain percentage of your viewers dropped out of the video.
