The Tradecast platform includes several features to generate revenue with your video content. One of those features is AVOD (ad-based video on demand), which allows you to integrate video ads from advertisement providers such as SpotX into your videos. This article explains how you can manage the AVOD module through the CMS of your video platform.
With ads aimed at individual viewers, you can generate new revenue streams with content on your video platform. You can use Tradecast's AVOD revenue generation module to determine when a video ad may appear in the timeline of your video. Only at the right time, accurate to the second. Tradecast supports leading advertising platforms such as SpotX, each with their own parameters for the delivery of video ads.

Adding the 'AVOD' overlay to a video
Adding the AVOD overlay to a video is done via the Media Overview. The Overview can be accessed by clicking the following buttons in the CMS of your online video platform:
In the Media Overview, select the video to which you want to add video ads using AVOD and click on the three-dot sign (...). In the selection menu, click on 'Overlays'. You'll now arrive on the specific media page for the chosen video. Here, you can not only find the most important display and analytic information for this video, but also manage the overlays. If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you will see a selection screen with the following available overlays:
- Twitter feed/RSS feed
- Automated trading
The bars behind the different types of interactive overlays visualize the duration of the chosen video. Move your mouse to the bar behind the overlay 'Automated trading'. To place a video ad, click in the bar behind the overlay you want to activate. The 'Add' screen will open, where you can indicate at which moment in the video you want the ad to start playing. You can also use the buttons under 'Start of the overlay' to determine a more specific start position for the ad.
Saving AVOD settings
If you have changed the settings for this overlay to your satisfaction, you can save your changes by clicking the 'Save' button in the lower right corner of the 'Add' screen. Your chosen AVOD settings are now active. If the reach of this specific video is sufficient - informed to you by your Tradecast Support agent via email@example.com - viewers of this video will automatically see advertisements at the times you have specified.
Note: viewing your turnover through AVOD can be seen in the dashboard of your chosen AVOD provider.
