The Timeline is an optional feature of the TradeCast platform that allows you to present your audience with a selection of videos from the Media Overview in a continuous loop and provide viewers with various forms of interactivity. Managing the timeline is done via the 'Timeline' button in the main menu of the CMS of your video platform.
On the Timeline page, you have direct access to the full Media Overview. You can simply add videos to your Timeline by dragging and dropping them from this overview onto the Timeline. Removing videos from the Timeline works in a similar way: by picking up a video and dragging it out of the Timeline, you remove it from the Timeline.
The blocks that appear in between videos you put on the timeline are 'transitions'. These are used to make one video on the Timeline flow smoothly into the next. It is also possible to add the Overlays 'Twitter feed' and 'RSS feed' to your Timeline. Doing so will display a bar at the bottom of the screen that shows either tweets from a specific Twitter account or news items from an RSS feed.
Live streaming on your Timeline
It is also possible to switch to a live video connection on your Timeline. The settings for the live connection can be filled in by clicking on the 'Start live stream' button. The specific live streaming settings for your video platform can be requested from your TradeCast Support contact or via support@tradecast.eu.
Scheduling video content on the Timeline
While it is not yet possible to schedule video content on your channel's Timeline, this is a feature we want to make available in the future. At the moment, the timeline can be adjusted manually; by clicking and dragging videos you can easily change the order and contents of your timeline.
