Once you have selected a Tradecast license and (if applicable) any additional features and have signed the corresponding agreement, Tradecast's onboarding process begins. In this process, a Tradecast onboarding employee will guide you through a number of steps that will result in your online video platform being developed and prepared for launch and commercial rollout.
In this article we will explain the steps you will have to take in the onboarding process of Tradecast and which files and documents you need to produce and/or deliver to get through this process successfully. The onboarding process of Tradecast is divided into a number of phases. We'll start with phase 1: providing platform information and design elements.
Phase 1: providing information about your platform
In phase 1, you will provide your Tradecast Onboarding contact with all the necessary information needed to set up the web-based CMS of your video platform. Providing this information to your Onboarding contact has been made very simple with the Tradecast Onboarding Form. Upon completion, the Onboarding Form will be sent to the Tradecast development team, who will then use the information provided by you to set up the web-based CMS of your video platform.
Around the start date of the contract, we will send you your CMS login details so you can start creating on-demand categories, setting up content pages (such as the General Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and FAQ page) and - of course - uploading video content.
Phase 2: providing design elements
In addition to completing the Tradecast Onboarding Form, your onboarding contact will need to receive the following files from you for designing the web-based front-end of your own video platform:
- Your logo as vector file (.eps or .ai) and .png file (2500 by 2500 pixels);
- Written versions of your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement, to be made visible on your video platform;
- Two color codes for your video platform's front-end design;
- A web font of which you own the rights, for all text on the video platform (e.g. via fonts.google.com);
- Your look-and-feel preferences, based on template examples you received from your onboarding contact.
As soon as Tradecast is in possession of the elements stated above, the construction of the front-end of your web-based video platform can start. Your Tradecast contact will keep you informed about the duration of the construction of the front-end of your web-based video platform.
Phase 3: soft launching your video platform
After delivering you the CMS and the web-based front-end design of your video platform, your video platform will be launched in a temporary web environment. Now, it's time to review the delivered video platform and let your Tradecast contact know if the design meets your demands. You can now focus on any strategies around the launch of your video platform, for example by creating and setting up social media pages and preparing other (online) marketing for the introduction of your video platform to your target audience.
Phase 4: designing and delivering the OTT apps
If your Tradecast license also includes (native) apps, for example for iOS, Android, Apple tvOS, Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Smart TVs from Samsung and LG, these apps will be designed in phase 4 of the onboarding process and sent to the various app stores for review and publishing. To design the apps, Tradecast will need several elements from you, including:
- A design for the various app icons of your video platform, in vector format;
- A welcome screen design for your video platform app for iOS and Android.
Your Tradecast onboarding contact will be your guide in delivering the design elements stated above.
Phase 5: video platform launch
When both your web-based video platform and your various OTT apps are available and your strategies for introducing your online video proposition to your target audience are ready, it's time to launch your video platform. Congratulations on this milestone!
Phase 6: refining your content and marketing strategie
After you've launched your online video proposition, it's important to keep checking that your initial content and marketing strategies work the way you want and you're achieving the goals you've set.
