Apple may change the terms and conditions of your Apple Developer and App Store Connect agreements. In order for TradeCast to continue to manage and update your video platform app for iOS and tvOS, you will need to review and accept the new terms and conditions. In this article, we'll explain how to do this.
Reviewing and accepting new terms and conditions for using your Apple Developer account starts with loggin into the Apple Developer environment. You can access it via this link. Log in using your Apple ID and confirm the app you want to update in the top right corner.
Note: if you haven't yet created an Apple Developer account but would like to use TradeCast's iOS and/or TVOS apps, click here for an article explaining how to set up an Apple Developer account.
Viewing new Apple Developer terms and conditions
When new conditions are available, you will see a red colored banner with the button 'Review summary' on it. If this is the case, click on this button. The new terms and conditions for using an Apple Developer account will now appear. Read these and accept them to ensure that your app(s) remain managed by TradeCast.
To double-check if the new Apple Developer terms and conditions are accepted, refresh the page (F5 in Windows, Command + R in Mac OS). The red banner with the message informing you about the new conditions should not be shown anymore.
Accepting new App Store Connect conditions
If they're available, now is the time to accept the new App Store Connect terms and conditions. To do so, go to the App Store Connect website and log in with your Apple ID. Confirm the correct app in the top right corner (under your user name). When new terms and conditions or 'agreements' are available, this time a yellow banner will appear. The exact text of the banner depends on the changes:
Checking new App Store Connect conditions
Click on the button 'Agreements, Tax and Banking'. There, you'll find a table called 'agreements'. Check if there are new conditions/agreements available under 'free apps'. You can see this in the 'status' column. Then click on the button 'View and Agree to Terms', with which you can view and accept the conditions. If there are no conditions available for 'free apps', check if there are new conditions for 'paid apps' (more about that in a moment).
Next, click on the button to view the conditions. A menu appears. Read through the information and follow the steps. When the conditions are accepted, its status will change and the button to view the conditions will no longer be visible. Confirm this by going back to the main App Store Connect screen. The yellow banner should now no longer be visible. If this is the case, proceed to the next step.
Accepting new conditions for 'paid apps'
Go back to the page 'Agreements, Tax and Banking'. If a process has been started in the past for paid apps or so-called 'in-app payments', new conditions for 'paid apps' must also be accepted. In the same table where the 'free apps' conditions were listed, there will also be a mention of new terms and conditions for 'paid apps'. Click on the new terms and conditions to accept them and complete this process.
When the new conditions are accepted, the status will change and the button to view the conditions will no longer be visible. Confirm this by going back to the main App Store Connect screen. The yellow banner should now no longer be visible.
Please contact TradeCast Support if you still see reports about new agreements and/or terms after following the steps above. A TradeCast Support agent will help you to review and accept the new terms correctly and completely.
Checking certificate rights
You may need to give your Tradecast Support contact the proper permissions to manage your Apple app certificates. These certificates ensure that only Tradecast can submit your apps to the Apple Store and that Apple sees that the apps are from Tradecast.
Note: you'll need a Apple business account to perform the next steps.
By following the steps below, you can ensure that Tradecast has the proper permissions to continue making changes to your app(s):
- Go to the App Store Connect user page;
- Sign in there with your Apple ID. The page below should become visible;
- In the navigation bar at the top right of the screen, check that the correct developer account has been chosen.
Then select the email address 'developer@tradecast.eu' from the list of users. A page like the one in the image below should become visible:
Finally, scroll down until you see the label 'Developer Resources'. Click on the box next to 'Accesses to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles' so that a checkmark appears in the box and click on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page.
If you have any questions about the above process, please contact Tradecast Support via support@tradecast.eu.
