The additional feature User-generated Content (UGC) can be used for collecting video content from your audience by using TradeCast's iOS and Android mobile apps, that can be developed for your video platform proposition. With the iOS and/or Android apps, your viewers have access to the UGC feature, which allows them to submit recorded video content from their smartphone or tablet. This video content is then made available in the CMS of your video platform.
The feature User-generated Content can be found under the 'UGC' button in the main menu of the CMS. Here, the videos that viewers of your video platform have submitted are bundled. They can do this via the iOS and Android apps of your video platform using the button 'Submit media', found in the main menu of the apps. Viewers who press that button can choose a video on their smartphone or tablet to send, or record one on the spot. They then choose the Interest category that best fits their video (for example 'Competition X' or 'Event Y') and give their video a name and a short description.
Utilizing user-generated content
Videos sent in by your viewers via the user-generated content feature of the iOS and Android apps do not automatically appear on the frontend of your video platform. In stead, an administrator of your video platform's CMS will get a notification in the CMS as soon as a new video has been sent in. When a new video has been sent in by a viewer, a number will appear next to 'User generated media' on the left side menu of your video platform's CMS This number will tell you how many new videos have been submitted by your viewers since the last time you've checked the UGC overview in the CMS.
Sending feedback to UGC uploaders
If you click the UGC button in the CMS, you can view the uploaded videos, delete them, download them, park them (move them to a separate overview, e.g. as a pre-selection), add them to your Media Overview or - lastly - send feedback to the uploader. The latter is done in the form of a one-time email, sent from the video platform.
The 'Feedback' option can be used to thank a viewer for their submission or participation or to ask them to send even more footage of the event that person has attended.
