With the additional feature Geoblocking you can determine whether or not viewers from certain regions of the world have access to videos on your video platform. When the Geoblocking feature is activated for your video platform, you can use the CMS to indicate which regions you want to highlight. For each highlighted region, you can then determine what the rules are for viewers in that specific region.
Creating regions using Geoblocking is done via the 'Geoblocking' button in the main menu of your video platform (visible once activated). There, you click on the '+ Add' button to create a new geoblocking region. You can also manage existing geoblocking regions on this screen.
If you have clicked the '+ Add' button, you can provide your new geoblocking region with a name, for example 'Only available in The United States'. Under 'Type' you determine whether you want to add countries (whitelist) or exclude countries (blacklist) for this geoblocking setting. Under 'Description', add an explanation for this geoblocking setting and click 'Save'.
Saving your settings activates the newly created geoblocking setting and displays a world map, where you can click countries on a world map. By selecting countries, you add them to the geoblocking setting and they will either be assigned to your 'whitelist' or your 'blacklist'. To add videos to this geoblocking setting, click the 'Add/Remove media' button under 'Included media' and click on the video(s) to be included in this Geoblocking setting.
When you have finished adjusting your geoblocking settings, click the 'Save' button above the world map. Your geoblocking settings are now saved and active.
